Finding your path is a truly life-changing experience. Life is no longer uncertainty – your connection between living and your purpose in life goes with you every day. When you honor your possibilities – allow them to become realities – you become the person you always could be.

All of us get lost occasionally. We find ourselves wandering or drifting – sometimes for years. Then one day we realize that the clock is ticking – the sand is running out of our own personal hourglass. Many of my clients come to me when they have reached such a time. They have lost their path.
My mentoring message is simple and direct. It does not have to be that way. Your life does not have to be the way it is. The journey back to the path begins with a new dream. To have a new dream you must begin to dream. Without dreams, the future is going to be a lot like the past. Most of my clients come to me because they have lost the tendency to dream.
The kind of dream that I am talking about is the one you have of yourself. How you relate to that self – how you honor the possibilities – is part of that dream. For some, the dream has become so mundane that they do not visit it anymore. For others, it is taken to be so offensive or depressing that they avoid all contact. It does not have to be that way.
The gateway to the dreaming is unreserved self-acceptance. Restarting the dream is often not an easy or comfortable process. The blocks to dreaming can be formidable. One of the most difficult to overcome is the suspicion that you do not deserve to have a dream. But, of course, you do. The dream is waiting for you – waiting to be dreamt.
Helping my clients begin the dream anew is the place where most of my mentoring begins. The need to accept their value as a human being and that that value is positive. They need to accept that they are deserving of the dream and all the things that it can bring them. They need to give themselves permission to reach for the possibilities that the dream shows them. It can be that way.
Too many people take their own value for granted. They overlook or devalue the great and good things in their life. They forget that life itself is a wondrous gift of in great value. It does not have to be that way.
Mentoring is about helping another person rediscover and reconnect with his or her dreams. As I work with them – help them reconnect and overcome challenges – they begin to awake to the possibilities of life. Once they begin to dream – then own – their dream, their life changes. Each breath is a gift – each heartbeat – each though – each opportunity to learn, grow and relate. For most it is a rebirth – a second chance – a reaffirmation of life and their life. It can be that way.
